Hello all creatives, we hope this note finds you well and spending some time enjoying mindful activities.

Please accept apologies for our absence both online and in the workshop so far this year.

We had a large flood which meant cancelling all plans for six months. We will be back in touch as soon as the studio is safe and comfortable enough to start again.

Thanks you for your patience, encouragement and interest.

We are Marianne and Alison who together make up theartsboxgroup.

We believe creativity offers the chance of mindfull wellbeing, an opportunity to work with your hands, freeing your mind of outside concerns. 

Whilst working in a group, we share, encourage and offer a safe space for relaxation.  

All levels of ability welcome.

Marianne
I have worked in the creative arts industry, in schools and running private workshops over the last 20 years. As an arts technician, I was able to see the positive effects that creative work provides when there are few time constraints and concerns of end results. The enjoyment of experimentation alone can create a sense of calm acceptance and appreciation. I so passionately believe in this practice; I trained in a creative counsellor to gain a better understanding of the psychology behind why the process works so well.
I worked at a primary school for 18 years and got the opportunity to see children with challenges thrive in art lessons. Theartsbox has given me an outlet to share what I know with others, with no expectation of being perfect but just giving it a go. I love sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others and love helping people to produce their own works of art. Theartsbox is a safe place where people can express themselves through art and mindfulness. It is a place to just take a moment, relax and feel good. We want everyone who comes to one of our workshops to leave with a sense of achievement, a desire to further explore their chosen ‘thing’ and just be happy doing it.
